Showit vs Webflow – which one is better suited for your business?
I’ve been using Showit to design hundreds of sites since I started my business, and I love how much creative freedom it gives me as a website designer. But I’ve learned it’s not the perfect fit for everyone. That’s why I’m diving into both these platforms.
Whether you’re starting fresh or sprucing up your current site, picking the right website builder is super important. Let’s explore what Webflow and Showit have to offer, so you can make the best choice for your business!
What do you really need in a platform?
Before we dive into the specifics of each platform, it’s important to first identify what you need from your website. Are you looking for ease and simplicity, or do you need a platform that can scale and evolve with your growing business?
Think about how you want to be interacting with and using your website. Would you prefer a platform that’s straightforward and easy to use, allowing you to quickly update and manage your site? Or do you need a more robust system that, while possibly more complex, provides better flexibility and control over your web presence?
It’s crucial to pick a platform that feels like a good fit – not just reliable and easy to manage, but also comes with the right features to support your business! Choosing the right one can really make your day-to-day smoother and support your growth every step of the way.
My Showit Story
Using Showit for the past four years has been an amazing experience. It’s user-friendly, perfect for creating visually stunning websites without a line of code. Showit lets you drag and drop elements to create a site that’s as unique as your business. But I’ve learned that it’s not the perfect fit for everyone, especially when you need more advanced functionality or complex site features. Some industries it can be perfect for include wedding planners, photographers, designers, or any business where the main focus is showcasing beautiful imagery and/or for those wanting a powerful WordPress blog integrated onto their website.
Meet Webflow
Webflow is like the multi-tool of website builders – it’s versatile and powerful, and I’ve found it helpful for creating detailed, responsive websites. It’s definitely more complex than Showit, but the level of control it offers is incredible. You can create almost anything you can imagine, all through a visual interface that handles HTML and CSS for you. I love how it gives me the freedom to tailor every detail to suit my clients’ needs, their helpful library of Webflow Apps, and the ability to design an e-commerce store directly in their builder.
Showit vs Webflow: Let’s Compare
Creativity and Design
Showit: Perfect for creatives who want total freedom in layout and design without the hassle of coding. Ideal for visually-driven sites like portfolios and blogs.
Webflow: Offers similar design freedom but with a structured approach, allowing for intricate designs and responsive controls that are great for a professional online presence.
User-Friendliness
Showit: Super easy to use. If you can handle basic design tools, you’ll feel right at home with Showit. It’s built to help you get your site up and running quickly and smoothly.
Webflow: While Webflow might seem a bit daunting at first, it has something awesome called the Webflow editor. It splits the full designer’s toolbox, which has all the bells and whistles, from a much simpler version for clients. The client editor makes updating your site simple and easy. It’s the perfect setup: complex enough for website designers (like me!) to bring your vision to life and simple enough for you to make updates worry-free.
SEO and Site Performance
Showit: Great for SEO but can be a bit slow if you’re not compressing your images or optimizing your content properly. But I’ve seen amazing results with my own websites & my client’s websites when it’s done well!
Webflow: Great for creating SEO-friendly sites that load quickly and perform well across all devices, which is essential for keeping both visitors and search engines happy.
Integration Capabilities
Showit: Somewhat limited here. It does well with basic tools but struggles with more complex systems like eCommerce or advanced CRM tools.
Webflow: Shines brightly when it comes to integrations, thanks to its robust API and extensive third-party support. Whether you need eCommerce solutions, marketing tools, or advanced analytics, Webflow handles it all with ease!
Community and Support
Showit: Showit has a vibrant community of designers and users who are always ready to help. The support team is known for being responsive and helpful, providing solutions and guidance quickly.
Webflow: Webflow also has a large and active community. Its comprehensive knowledge base, active forums, and professional support make it an excellent choice for those who might need a bit more technical help.
Costs
Showit: You can start with Showit for about $19 a month, which is super budget-friendly. Their most decked-out plan goes up to about $39 per month. It’s perfect if you’re a solo entrepreneur or a small business owner looking to create a gorgeous site without spending a ton.
Webflow: Webflow’s prices begin at $12 a month, which is great for basic sites. But if you’re diving into more complex websites with lots of content, prices can climb to $36 or more each month. For the scalability and features you get, it’s definitely worth considering if you’re planning big.
Which One Should You Choose?
Picking the right platform depends on what you need it to do. If you love creating beautiful sites with ease, Showit is a great choice. But if you need a site that can handle growth and complex tech, Webflow is your go-to.
Whichever platform you’re leaning towards, I’m here to help make it happen! I offer design services for both Showit and Webflow, so no matter your choice, you’ll have a pro by your side. We’ll make sure your site doesn’t just look awesome but also works non-stop to market and sell for you.
