1. The Proposal + Discovery Call

Once you’ve filled out the client application form on my website, you’ll receive a comprehensive proposal that covers all the essential details. I believe in transparency, so I provide as much information as possible about my process. This way, you can make an informed decision about working together. Plus, if you’re not a fan of phone calls, no worries! I’ve worked with plenty of clients who prefer email communication. Your comfort is key.

If you decide to move forward with the project, you can submit the proposal. This step leads you to the contract and the first invoice, where 25% of the project cost is due to secure your spot on my calendar. Please note that my schedule tends to fill up fast (typically booked 2-3 months ahead), so this lead time gives you ample room to gather necessary content like website materials, photos, and branding assets.

2. Design Questionnaire + Google Drive

After submitting the necessary documentation and paying the initial invoice, you’ll gain access to your personalized client portal, complete with a brief design questionnaire. This questionnaire helps me understand your business and your vision for your website’s style and design. It’s a crucial step in tailoring the project to your unique needs. We’ll also discuss your target audience, competitors, and the services/products you offer.

Upon submitting the questionnaire, you’ll receive an invitation to a Google Drive folder. Here, you can upload your written copy, images, branding assets, and any other content you’d like to share. This keeps everything organized for both of us. Please note that I don’t provide copywriting or photography services, so it’s essential for you to provide these elements.

3. Design Process Begins!

Once I have all the necessary materials, I’ll kick off the website design process on the agreed-upon start date. The timeline varies depending on the complexity of your website and the chosen package, typically taking anywhere from 2 to 10 weeks. Rest assured that I’m working diligently behind the scenes to bring your vision to life.

During this phase, I create a mockup to visualize your website’s layout. I usually keep these mockups to myself since they’re rough drafts meant for internal reference. Most of the time, they won’t resemble the final result. My creativity truly shines when I’m building the website and can see elements come together live.

Once you’ve submitted all your materials, there’s nothing more for you to do until the revision process. I’ll design every page, ensuring it’s perfect before sending it to you for review. You can sit back and relax while I work my magic.

4. Preview & Revision Process

This step is a fan favorite! You’ll receive a preview link to your new website, allowing you to test it live. I’ll also provide a screen share video explaining the design I’ve created. Clients love this part because it offers an interactive look at their project.

Your feedback is invaluable to me. Your website is a collaboration, and I’m here to make it just right for you. Typically, clients go through 1-3 rounds of revisions until they’re completely satisfied with the final design. After watching the update video and exploring the live website, you can provide feedback and request any changes. We’ll continue refining until you’re thrilled with the outcome.

5. Launch Process

Once all the tests are passed and there are no more changes to be made, you’re ready to launch whenever you’re comfortable. I’ll ensure your domain, SSL certificate, and everything else are functioning correctly for a smooth public launch. You’ll receive a comprehensive video tutorial to guide you through managing your website independently. You won’t need to hire me for basic updates. However, if you ever need assistance, I’m here to support your ongoing needs.
