Launching your new website? It’s time to build hype and excitement to get the best results possible! Building anticipation and buzz around your website launch is key for a successful launch. There are many strategies to get visitors eager to visit your new website on launch day.
I see a lot of businesses placing a Coming Soon page up and using this as their only launch strategy, but there’s much more to this! Coming Soon is a great way to let potential clients know that something good is coming & where you can place a newsletter sign-up form for them to be notified of the launch. However, I only recommend this if you’re launching a completely new business/website. Placing a Coming Soon/Under Construction page on your existing website can hurt your SEO. But it’s a great first step if you’re a new business with no existing website or domain authority. Here are 5 ways to build hype around your website launch & get that website traffic up!
Share the process behind the scenes/sneak peeks on social media, and how your website will benefit them when it goes live. If they like what they see, they’ll come by on launch day. You could tease a new addition to your services, a new product, a fun freebie, or something new to entice them to join! It creates a buzz and they’ll be more eager to visit. If you randomly launch a website with no build-up excitement, you won’t get the best results you were hoping for. I recommend teasing your new website at least 1 month before the launch!
Create a special limited-time offer for those signing up for your email list early, or visiting your website on launch day. This will make them excited to visit as everyone loves discounts & freebies! Some ideas are some discounts, a complimentary product, buy X get X free, early access, and more. Make these offers expire quickly to create urgency. Urgency encourages people to act quickly and is the best way to increase conversions/get more website traffic.
Set a launch day and add a countdown timer on your website, or create social media graphics counting down the days to your launch as well as a countdown for your launch incentive. They’ll have it in their mind that your website s coming soon, and they’ll want to see what the hype is about.
Everyone loves a fun activity! Some businesses do website scavenger hunts (such a cool idea!) to encourage visitors to visit pages that will be important their business & SEO purposes. For example, hiding an icon somewhere on a random page & whoever finds it gets a prize! Or hosting a giveaway before your website goes live to bring new visitors in that may find you through social media platforms.
I recommend promoting your launch at the start of the week for a few days & launching it midweek between Wednesday to Friday. If you have a Coming Soon page up, install Google Analytics & see what days/hours get the most traffic and where the visitors are coming from as seen below. You can track the most popular hours and days of the week that people visit, and set the launch when it’s typically the highest.
