If you’ve ever thought about creating a custom contact form that actually works in Showit, but ended up getting stuck trying to figure out which tool to use or how to embed it, you’re not alone.
In this post, we’re walking through how to create custom contact forms in Showit, whether you want to keep it basic or go a little more advanced with dropdowns, automations, and integrations. And if tech stuff stresses you out, don’t worry. We’re going to keep this simple, easy to understand, and beginner-safe. Let’s break down the different ways to create a form in Showit and how to know which one fits your business best.

If you just want a clean, straightforward way for clients to send you a message, Showit makes it easy to set up a form directly in your design. Since there isn’t a dedicated “form” block, you’ll create your fields using paragraph text and enable them as inputs.
It might sound a little technical, but we’re going to walk through the steps so you can set it up easily. Here’s exactly how to set it up:

Once you enable input, you’ll see more options pop up:
Make sure you enable input for every single field you want to collect information from.
This is the fun part! You can design it however you like:
As long as the inputs are enabled, your design won’t affect how the form works.
Here’s a small but important tip: on the left-side layers panel, organize your fields in top-to-bottom order (from top-left to bottom-right). This makes sure users can tab through fields correctly for accessibility.

This part’s important: always test your form to make sure submissions go to your email inbox. Showit will automatically send inquiries to the email associated with your Showit account — you can’t set separate emails for each form.
Make sure to send yourself a test inquiry to confirm it works before launching your site!

If you have clients in the EU or want to be GDPR-compliant, Showit’s form may not meet the standard on its own. You can read more here, but in general, if you’re collecting personal info or want to add consent checkboxes, you’ll want to use a different form tool.
If you’re already using a client management system like Dubsado or HoneyBook, you can embed your lead capture or inquiry form right into your Showit website.
That way, when someone fills out your form, it goes straight into your CRM. And you can trigger automations like welcome emails, discovery call booking links, or workflows.
It’ll blend right in with your website design, and you’ll save so much time by having new inquiries land directly in your system.
If you’re not quite ready for a CRM, or just want a more flexible form without the monthly subscription, we recommend using Tally.
It’s a free form builder that’s user-friendly, minimal, and customizable. Think: Notion vibes but for forms.
It’s a great solution for creatives and small business owners who want a branded, user-friendly form without the CRM complexity (or cost). The only downside is their logo mark on the free plan, but it’s a great temporary solution!

If you’re not sure where to start, here’s a simple way to figure it out:
No matter which option you choose, you can still make it look and feel like your brand. Showit gives you full control over the design so your form blends in seamlessly with the rest of your site.
Your contact form doesn’t have to be fancy, but it should work for the way you run your business. Whether you’re booking discovery calls, onboarding new clients, or creating space for someone to reach out with questions, a thoughtful form makes all the difference.
And that’s one of the reasons we love Showit so much. You’re not locked into one tool or one way of doing things, you get to design something that reflects your brand and actually works behind the scenes.
If you’re currently building your site in Showit or thinking about switching over, this is just one more reason it’s perfect for creative, service-based business owners like you.
