Do I Need One for my Website?

Cookie consent banners can be important and often overlooked, the same with privacy policies. In my opinion, yes you usually do. With so many privacy laws (especially GDPR), it’s best to save yourself the stress of breaking any federal laws – and to place the banner on your website & be on the good side of the European laws.

For example, if someone were to visit your website from the EU where the law applies, then the law (and penalties for not complying) would apply to you. It doesn’t matter if you’re located in that country or not. It’s required by many privacy laws across the world and helps your visitors understand what cookies you use & how you use them. Even if it’s not required in your country, it’s still good to have in order to remain transparent with your visitors as more privacy regulations are enacted. You need to disclose how you’re collecting the data, how long you keep the data for & whom you share the data with. If you collect ANY data (contact form, newsletter opt-in, payment processor analytics, etc) then you should really considering adding a cookie banner on your website.

Adding It To Your Website

Once you’ve finished customizing your cookie banner on Enzuzo, you’ll go to “Add to Website”. Copy the embed code they provide, and paste it into the HTML of your website. If you’re using Showit, head over to your Page Advanced Settings & input the code in the “Custom Head HTML” section. Publish the website & make sure to test it on your live website.
